Eudyptula Minor
Eudyptula minor, commonly known as the little blue penguin or fairy penguin, is the smallest species of penguin, measuring about 30 to 40 centimeters in height. Native to the coastal regions of Australia and New Zealand, these penguins are known for their distinctive blue feathers and white bellies. They primarily feed on small fish, squid, and crustaceans, which they catch while swimming.
Little blue penguins are social birds, often found in large colonies. They nest in burrows or under vegetation, where they raise their chicks. These penguins are nocturnal, foraging for food at night and returning to their nests at dawn. Their population is currently stable, although they face threats from habitat loss and introduced predators.
