Etemenanki
Etemenanki was a massive ziggurat located in ancient Babylon, dedicated to the god Marduk. It is often referred to as the "Tower of Babel" in biblical texts. The structure stood approximately 91 meters tall and was built in several tiers, each smaller than the one below it, creating a stepped appearance.
Construction of Etemenanki began around the 6th century BCE, and it was part of a larger temple complex. The ziggurat was made of mud bricks and adorned with colorful glazed tiles. It served as a religious center and symbolized the city's power and devotion to Marduk.
