Eructation
Eructation, commonly known as belching, is the release of gas from the stomach through the mouth. This process occurs when air is swallowed while eating or drinking, or when gas is produced during digestion. It helps relieve pressure in the stomach and can be a normal bodily function.
While often considered socially inappropriate, eructation is a natural response of the body. It can be influenced by factors such as the consumption of carbonated beverages, certain foods, and eating habits. Excessive eructation may indicate underlying digestive issues, and consulting a healthcare professional may be advisable if it becomes problematic.
