Belching
Belching, also known as burping, is the release of gas from the stomach through the mouth. This process occurs when air is swallowed while eating or drinking, or when gas builds up in the stomach. It is a normal bodily function that helps relieve pressure and discomfort.
Excessive belching can sometimes indicate digestive issues, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). While occasional belching is common, persistent or painful belching may require medical attention to identify any underlying conditions.
