Flatulence
Flatulence is the release of gas from the digestive system through the rectum. This gas is a natural byproduct of digestion and can include nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and sometimes methane. Foods that are high in fiber, such as beans and certain vegetables, can increase the amount of gas produced in the intestines.
While flatulence is a normal bodily function, excessive gas can lead to discomfort and social embarrassment. Factors like diet, swallowing air, and certain medical conditions can influence the amount of gas produced. Maintaining a balanced diet and being mindful of eating habits can help manage flatulence.
