Ermengarde of Tours
Ermengarde of Tours was a notable figure in the early medieval period, born around 850. She was the daughter of Count Robert of Tours and Adelaide of Tours. Ermengarde became the wife of Charles the Bald, a king of the Franks and later Holy Roman Emperor, which strengthened political alliances during that time.
As a queen, Ermengarde played a significant role in the court and was known for her piety and charitable works. She had several children, including Louis the Stammerer, who would later become king. Ermengarde's legacy is often linked to her contributions to the stability of the Carolingian dynasty.
