Adelaide of Tours
Adelaide of Tours was a prominent figure in the early medieval period, born around 931 in France. She was the daughter of William I, Duke of Aquitaine and became known for her piety and charitable works. Adelaide was married to Lothair of France, but after his death, she dedicated her life to religious service and the welfare of the poor.
Later, Adelaide became the abbess of the Abbey of Saint-Romain in Tours, where she was revered for her leadership and spiritual guidance. She is often celebrated for her contributions to the church and her role in promoting monastic life during a time of social upheaval.
