It is approximately 19 light-years away from Earth and consists of two stars, Epsilon Cassiopeiae A and Epsilon Cassiopeiae B. The primary star, Epsilon Cassiopeiae A, is a yellow-orange giant, while the secondary star is a smaller, cooler companion.
The system is notable for its relatively close proximity to Earth and its visibility to the naked eye. Epsilon Cassiopeiae A has a spectral type of K0 III, indicating it has evolved off the main sequence and expanded in size.
