Alpha Cassiopeiae, also known as Schedar, is a prominent star located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is classified as a red giant and is approximately 230 light-years away from Earth. Schedar is notable for its brightness, being one of the more luminous stars in the night sky.
This star has a surface temperature of around 4,800 Kelvin and is about 45 times larger than our Sun. Alpha Cassiopeiae is often used in navigation and astronomy due to its distinct position in the Cassiopeia constellation, which resembles a W shape.
