Enrollment Periods
Enrollment periods are specific times when individuals can sign up for or make changes to their health insurance plans. These periods are crucial for ensuring that people have access to coverage when they need it. Typically, there are designated enrollment periods for different types of plans, such as Medicare or Marketplace insurance.
During these enrollment periods, individuals can enroll in a new plan, switch plans, or make adjustments to their existing coverage. Outside of these times, changes are usually not allowed unless there are qualifying life events, such as marriage or birth of a child, which can trigger a special enrollment period.
