English government
The English government is a system that operates under a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. This means that while there is a monarch, currently King Charles III, the real power lies with elected officials in Parliament. The Parliament consists of two houses: the House of Commons, made up of Members of Parliament (MPs) elected by the public, and the House of Lords, which includes appointed members and bishops.
The government is led by the Prime Minister, who is the head of the ruling party in the House of Commons. The Prime Minister and their cabinet are responsible for making and implementing laws, while Parliament debates and approves these laws. This structure ensures that the government is accountable to the people through regular elections.
