Empress Josephine
Empress Josephine, born Marie Josèphe Rose Tascher de La Pagerie in 1763, was the first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. She became Empress of the French when Napoleon crowned himself in 1804. Josephine was known for her charm, elegance, and love of art and gardening, particularly at her estate, Malmaison.
Despite their deep affection, Josephine and Napoleon's marriage faced challenges, including her inability to produce an heir. In 1810, they divorced, allowing Napoleon to marry Marie Louise of Austria. Josephine continued to be a prominent figure in society until her death in 1814, remembered for her influence on fashion and culture.
