Emperor Thiệu Trị
Emperor Thiệu Trị was the third emperor of the Nguyễn Dynasty in Vietnam, reigning from 1847 to 1883. He was born on April 16, 1807, and became emperor after the death of his predecessor, Minh Mạng. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the central government and promote Confucian values.
During his rule, Thiệu Trị faced significant challenges, including internal dissent and external threats from colonial powers. His government struggled to maintain control over the country, leading to increased tensions with the French, who were expanding their influence in Vietnam. Thiệu Trị died on July 4, 1883, leaving a complex legacy.
