Emperor Kōgon
Emperor Kōgon was the 98th emperor of Japan, reigning from 1331 to 1333 during the Nanboku-chō period. He was born in 1313 and was a member of the Yamato dynasty. His reign was marked by political instability and conflict, particularly with the Ashikaga clan, which sought to gain power during this tumultuous time.
Kōgon's rule ended when he was forced to abdicate in favor of Emperor Go-Daigo, who aimed to restore the imperial authority. After his abdication, Kōgon lived in relative obscurity until his death in 1364, leaving behind a legacy of a short and troubled reign.
