Emperor Go-Kōgon
Emperor Go-Kōgon was the 4th emperor of the Northern Court during the Nanboku-chō period in Japan. He reigned from 1333 to 1336, following the abdication of Emperor Go-Daigo. His rule was marked by the ongoing conflict between the Northern and Southern Courts, which were vying for legitimacy and control over Japan.
Go-Kōgon's reign ended when he was forced to abdicate in favor of Emperor Kōmyō, who represented the Southern Court. After his abdication, Go-Kōgon lived in relative obscurity until his death in 1394. His reign is often overshadowed by the larger historical context of the Nanboku-chō period.
