Go-Kōgon
Go-Kōgon was the 96th emperor of Japan, reigning from 1331 to 1333 during the Nanboku-chō period. He was a member of the Yamato dynasty and is known for his efforts to restore imperial power during a time of political turmoil and conflict.
His reign was marked by the struggle against the Ashikaga clan, which sought to establish its own rule. Ultimately, Go-Kōgon abdicated in favor of his son, Go-Murakami, as part of a broader effort to unify the imperial line and stabilize the country amidst ongoing civil strife.
