Elizabeth of York
Elizabeth of York was born on February 11, 1466, as the daughter of King Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. She played a significant role in the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars for control of the English throne. Elizabeth was the first queen consort of the Tudor dynasty after her marriage to Henry VII in 1486, which helped to unite the warring houses of York and Lancaster.
As queen, Elizabeth of York was known for her piety and support of her husband's reign. She had several children, including Arthur, Prince of Wales and Henry VIII. Elizabeth's lineage and marriage were crucial in establishing a more stable monarchy in England after years of conflict.
