Elizabeth Siddal
Elizabeth Siddal was an English artist, poet, and model, born on July 25, 1829. She is best known for her association with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of English painters, poets, and critics who sought to return to the detail, intense colors, and complex compositions of pre-Renaissance art. Siddal served as a muse for several prominent artists, including Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who later became her husband.
In addition to modeling, Siddal was a talented painter and poet in her own right. She produced a number of artworks and published poetry, although her creative contributions were often overshadowed by her relationships with male artists. Siddal's life was marked by struggles with health and personal tragedy, leading to her untimely death on February 11, 1862.
