Egyptian Cubit
The Egyptian Cubit is an ancient unit of measurement used in Egypt, primarily for construction and land surveying. It is based on the length of the forearm, from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger, and typically measures about 18 inches (45.72 cm). The cubit was essential for building the grand structures of ancient Egypt, including the Pyramids and temples.
There were different types of cubits, such as the royal cubit, which was longer and used for official measurements. The cubit was often marked on measuring rods, ensuring consistency in construction and trade throughout the Egyptian civilization.
