Edward the Black Prince
Edward the Black Prince was a prominent English prince and military leader during the 14th century. Born in 1330, he was the eldest son of King Edward III and played a crucial role in the Hundred Years' War against France. Known for his bravery and tactical skills, he earned a reputation as one of the greatest knights of his time.
He is best remembered for his victories at the battles of Crécy and Poitiers, where he captured the French king, John II. Despite his military success, Edward's life was marked by illness, and he died in 1376 at the age of 45, leaving a lasting legacy in English history.
