Edward of England
Edward of England, often referred to as Edward the Confessor, was a king of England who reigned from 1042 until his death in 1066. He was the son of Ethelred the Unready and Emma of Normandy. Edward is known for his pious nature and efforts to promote peace and stability in England during his reign.
Edward's reign saw the construction of Westminster Abbey, which became a significant religious site. His death led to a succession crisis, contributing to the events that culminated in the Norman Conquest of England later that same year.
