Edmund I
Edmund I was a king of England who reigned from 939 to 946 AD. He was the son of King Edward the Elder and became king after the death of his half-brother, Aethelstan. Edmund is known for his efforts to consolidate the kingdom and defend it against Viking invasions.
During his reign, Edmund successfully reclaimed territories lost to the Vikings and strengthened the English monarchy. He was also known for his piety and support of the church. His reign was relatively short, as he was murdered in 946, but he left a lasting impact on the stability of England.
