Echeneidae
Echeneidae, commonly known as remoras or suckerfish, are a family of fish recognized for their unique ability to attach themselves to larger marine animals, such as sharks and turtles. They possess a specialized suction disc on the top of their heads, which allows them to cling to their hosts while swimming.
These fish are typically small, ranging from 20 to 90 centimeters in length, and are found in warm ocean waters worldwide. Remoras benefit from their association with larger animals by gaining protection and access to food scraps, while their hosts are generally unaffected by their presence.
