Early Blight
Early Blight is a common fungal disease that affects plants, particularly tomatoes and potatoes. It is caused by the fungus Alternaria solani, which thrives in warm, humid conditions. The disease is characterized by dark, concentric spots on leaves, leading to yellowing and eventual leaf drop, which can weaken the plant and reduce yields.
To manage Early Blight, gardeners can practice crop rotation, use resistant plant varieties, and apply fungicides when necessary. Proper spacing and pruning of plants can improve air circulation, reducing humidity around the foliage and helping to prevent the spread of the disease.
