Duke Ludwig IV of Bavaria
Duke Ludwig IV of Bavaria, also known as Ludwig the Bavarian, was born in 1282 and ruled as Duke of Bavaria from 1294 until his death in 1347. He was a member of the House of Wittelsbach and played a significant role in the politics of the Holy Roman Empire. Ludwig was known for his efforts to strengthen the power of the Bavarian duchy and for his conflicts with the Pope and other regional powers.
Ludwig IV was also elected as the Holy Roman Emperor in 1328, a position he held until 1347. His reign was marked by military campaigns and attempts to consolidate his authority over various territories.
