Duke Augustus of Saxe-Weissenfels
Duke Augustus of Saxe-Weissenfels was a German nobleman born on January 23, 1614. He was a member of the {House of Wettin} and served as the Duke of Saxe-Weissenfels from 1656 until his death in 1683. Augustus was known for his patronage of the arts and his efforts to promote culture in his duchy.
