Dujiangyan
Dujiangyan is an ancient irrigation system located in Sichuan Province, China. Built around 256 BC during the Warring States period, it was designed to manage the waters of the Min River and prevent flooding while ensuring a steady water supply for agriculture. The system uses a unique method of diverting water without the need for dams, showcasing remarkable engineering skills of its time.
Today, Dujiangyan is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and remains functional, benefiting local farmers. It attracts many visitors who come to admire its historical significance and the beautiful surrounding landscape, which includes the nearby Qingcheng Mountain.
