Duchy of Strelitz
The Duchy of Strelitz was a historical territory in northern Germany, part of the larger region of Mecklenburg. Established in the 18th century, it was ruled by the House of Strelitz, a branch of the House of Mecklenburg. The duchy was known for its picturesque landscapes and small towns, with its capital being Strelitz.
In 1918, following the end of World War I, the duchy lost its status as a sovereign state and became part of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The area is now integrated into modern-day Germany, reflecting its rich history and cultural heritage.
