Duchess Elisabeth of Mecklenburg-Schwerin
Duchess Elisabeth of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was born on November 8, 1869, in Schwerin, Germany. She was a member of the House of Mecklenburg and the daughter of Grand Duke Frederick Francis II. Elisabeth became known for her charitable work and involvement in social causes during her lifetime.
In 1889, she married Grand Duke Michael of Russia, a member of the Russian imperial family. The couple had three children, but their marriage faced challenges due to political tensions. Elisabeth's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her efforts to support various humanitarian initiatives until her death on January 24, 1955.
