The Dom Luís I Bridge is a double-deck metal arch bridge located in Porto, Portugal. It spans the Douro River, connecting the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Completed in 1886, the bridge was designed by the engineer Teófilo Seyrig, a student of the famous Gustave Eiffel.
The upper deck of the bridge is used for vehicles and pedestrians, while the lower deck primarily serves pedestrians and the Porto Metro. The bridge is an iconic symbol of the city and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the historic Ribeira District and the wine cellars of Gaia.
