Devonian period
The Devonian period is a geological time frame that lasted from about 419 to 359 million years ago. It is often referred to as the "Age of Fishes" because of the significant evolution and diversification of fish species during this time. The period is marked by the appearance of early tetrapods, which are the ancestors of all land vertebrates.
During the Devonian, the Earth's climate was generally warm, and the continents were positioned differently than today. This period saw the development of the first forests, which contributed to changes in the atmosphere and soil. The rich marine life and the emergence of terrestrial plants set the stage for future evolutionary advancements.
