Decanting
Decanting is the process of pouring a liquid, typically a beverage like wine, from one container to another. This is often done to separate the liquid from any sediment that may have settled at the bottom of the original container. By carefully tilting the bottle and pouring, the clearer liquid can be transferred while leaving the sediment behind.
In addition to wine, decanting can also apply to other liquids, such as spirits or oils. The practice can enhance the flavor and aroma of the beverage, allowing it to breathe and develop its full character before serving.
