De Facto Government
A "De Facto Government" refers to a governing body that exercises control and authority over a territory without being legally recognized as the official government. This type of government often arises in situations where the legitimate government has collapsed, is unable to function, or is not recognized by other states. De facto governments can emerge during conflicts, revolutions, or in regions where political power is contested.
These governments may operate effectively, providing services and maintaining order, even though they lack formal legitimacy. Examples of de facto governments include those formed during civil wars or in territories with disputed sovereignty, such as Taiwan or Northern Cyprus.
