Dar Al-Ma'mun
Dar Al-Ma'mun was a significant cultural and intellectual center established during the Islamic Golden Age in the 9th century. Founded by the Abbasid caliph Al-Ma'mun, it served as a hub for scholars, scientists, and translators, promoting the study of various disciplines, including mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy.
The institution is best known for its role in the translation movement, where Greek and other ancient texts were translated into Arabic. This effort not only preserved important knowledge but also laid the groundwork for future advancements in science and philosophy, influencing both the Islamic world and Europe.
