Danxia
Danxia refers to a unique geological formation characterized by colorful, steep cliffs and rock formations, primarily found in China. These formations are created from red sandstone and conglomerate, shaped by erosion over millions of years. The vibrant colors result from the iron oxide content in the rocks, creating stunning landscapes.
The most famous site is Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park, known for its rainbow-like hills. Danxia landscapes are recognized for their scientific significance and are often included in discussions about natural heritage, leading to their designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010.
