Dahi Handi
Dahi Handi is a popular festival celebrated in India, particularly in the state of Maharashtra. It commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is known for his playful nature and love for butter. During the festival, a clay pot filled with yogurt (dahi) is hung high above the ground, and teams of young men, called Govindas, form human pyramids to reach and break the pot.
The event is marked by excitement and competition, as teams strive to break the pot while onlookers cheer them on. The festival symbolizes teamwork, strength, and the spirit of celebration, making it a vibrant part of Krishna Janmashtami festivities.
