DNA Virus
A DNA virus is a type of virus that carries its genetic information in the form of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). These viruses can infect various organisms, including animals, plants, and bacteria. Once inside a host cell, they use the cell's machinery to replicate their DNA and produce new virus particles.
Examples of DNA viruses include Herpes Simplex Virus, which causes cold sores, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV), linked to certain cancers. DNA viruses can be classified into two main groups: double-stranded DNA viruses and single-stranded DNA viruses, each with distinct characteristics and replication processes.
