Czech monarchy
The Czech monarchy refers to the historical system of governance in the region now known as the Czech Republic, which was part of various kingdoms and empires. The most notable was the Kingdom of Bohemia, established in the 9th century, which became a significant part of the Holy Roman Empire. The monarchy saw various dynasties, including the Přemyslid and Luxembourg families, ruling over the territory.
The monarchy officially ended in 1918 with the establishment of Czechoslovakia after World War I. The last king of Bohemia was Wenceslaus II, and the monarchy's legacy continues to influence Czech culture and identity today.
