Curtiss JN-4H
The Curtiss JN-4H, commonly known as the "Jenny," was a biplane designed by the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company during World War I. It was primarily used for training pilots and became one of the most popular aircraft of its time. The JN-4H featured a wingspan of 43 feet and was powered by a OX-5 V-8 engine, allowing it to reach speeds of around 75 miles per hour.
After the war, the JN-4H played a significant role in the development of civil aviation in the United States. Many surplus aircraft were sold to private owners, leading to its use in barnstorming and mail delivery. Its simple design and reliability made it an enduring symbol of early aviation history.
