Cuban Revolutionary Party
The Cuban Revolutionary Party (Partido Revolucionario Cubano, PRC) was founded in 1892 by José Martí and other Cuban exiles. Its primary goal was to achieve Cuba's independence from Spanish colonial rule. The party played a significant role in the Cuban War of Independence, advocating for national sovereignty and social justice.
After the war, the PRC continued to influence Cuban politics, promoting democratic ideals and reforms. However, it faced challenges from various factions and eventually lost prominence as other revolutionary movements emerged, particularly during the rise of Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution in the 1950s.
