Cuban Public Transport
Cuban public transport primarily consists of buses, taxis, and the iconic classic cars that are often used as shared taxis. The state-run bus system, known as Viazul, connects major cities and is affordable for both locals and tourists. In urban areas, the Guaguas (local buses) are a common way to travel, though they can be crowded and have irregular schedules.
In addition to buses, bicitaxis (bicycle taxis) and horse-drawn carriages are popular in many towns, providing a unique way to navigate the streets. While public transport can be challenging due to limited resources, it remains an essential part of daily life in Cuba.
