Cuban Diaspora
The Cuban Diaspora refers to the communities of Cubans who have left their homeland, primarily due to political, economic, and social factors. This migration has occurred in several waves, especially after the Cuban Revolution in 1959, when many sought refuge from the new government led by Fidel Castro.
Today, the largest populations of Cubans outside of Cuba are found in the United States, particularly in Miami, Florida. The diaspora has significantly influenced the cultural landscape of these areas, contributing to the growth of Cuban-American identity and the preservation of Cuban traditions and customs.
