Crowned Crane
The Crowned Crane is a large, elegant bird known for its striking appearance and unique crown of golden feathers on its head. These cranes are primarily found in the wetlands and grasslands of Africa, where they thrive in open habitats. They are social birds, often seen in pairs or small groups, and are known for their elaborate courtship dances.
Crowned Cranes are omnivorous, feeding on a diet that includes seeds, insects, and small animals. They are also recognized for their loud, trumpeting calls, which they use to communicate with each other. Due to habitat loss and hunting, some species of crowned cranes are considered threatened.
