Black Crowned Crane
The Black Crowned Crane is a large bird native to the wetlands of Africa. It is easily recognized by its striking black and white plumage, golden crest of feathers on its head, and long legs. These cranes typically inhabit grasslands, marshes, and savannas, where they feed on seeds, insects, and small animals.
This species is known for its elaborate courtship dances, which involve jumping and flapping their wings. The Black Crowned Crane is also a social bird, often seen in groups. Unfortunately, it faces threats from habitat loss and hunting, leading to its classification as a vulnerable species.
