Creek people
The Creek people, also known as the Muscogee, are a Native American tribe originally from the southeastern United States, particularly in present-day Georgia and Alabama. They are part of the larger Southeastern Woodlands cultural group and have a rich history that includes a complex social structure and a deep connection to their land.
Historically, the Creek people were known for their agricultural practices, cultivating crops like corn, beans, and squash. They lived in towns governed by a council of leaders and were involved in trade with neighboring tribes and European settlers. Today, the Creek Nation is a federally recognized tribe, continuing to preserve their cultural heritage.
