Court Interveners
Court interveners are individuals or groups that participate in legal proceedings to provide additional perspectives or expertise on a case. They are not direct parties to the lawsuit but seek to influence the outcome by presenting relevant information or arguments. This role is often taken by organizations, advocacy groups, or government entities that have a vested interest in the case's implications.
Interveners typically file a motion to intervene, which must be approved by the court. Once granted, they can submit briefs, evidence, and may even participate in oral arguments. Their involvement can help ensure that diverse viewpoints, such as those related to civil rights or environmental protection, are considered in judicial decisions.
