Countess Bathory (Vampire)
Countess Elizabeth Báthory, often referred to as the "Blood Countess," was a Hungarian noblewoman born in 1560. She is infamous for her alleged crimes, which included the torture and murder of young girls. Báthory believed that bathing in their blood would preserve her youth and beauty, leading to her association with vampire legends.
Her actions reportedly took place in her castle in Transylvania, where she was said to have imprisoned and killed numerous victims. In 1610, she was arrested and tried, but due to her noble status, she was not executed; instead, she was confined to her castle until her death in 1614.
