Count William V of Holland
Count William V of Holland was a nobleman who ruled from 1751 to 1795. He was the last count of Holland before the region became part of the French Empire. William V was known for his loyalty to the House of Orange-Nassau and his efforts to maintain the independence of the Dutch Republic during a time of political turmoil.
During his reign, William V faced challenges from both internal factions and external threats, particularly from revolutionary movements. His inability to effectively manage these crises led to his eventual abdication and exile. After his departure, the Batavian Republic was established, marking a significant shift in Dutch governance.
