Count Roger I of Sicily
Count Roger I of Sicily was a Norman nobleman born around 1031. He is best known for his role in the conquest of Sicily, which began in 1061. Roger led a series of military campaigns against the Muslim rulers of the island, ultimately establishing Norman control and expanding his territory. His leadership and military skills were crucial in the successful establishment of the County of Sicily.
