Count John III of Holland
Count John III of Holland was a nobleman who ruled from 1299 until his death in 1301. He was a member of the House of Avesnes and succeeded his father, Count John II of Holland. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the county's position in the region.
John III's rule was relatively short, and he faced challenges from rival factions. After his death, the county was inherited by his half-brother, William I of Holland. This transition led to further political developments in the County of Holland during the early 14th century.
